Hello everyone! I have received a lot of messages asking what things I would like to receive while I'm in Thailand! To make things easier (and provide you all with more of a choice) I've compiled a wish list!
If you don't have my address, just ask! And please remember when sending packages to mark the contents as educational materials and snacks and claim the value to be less than $10 no matter what is inside, this will prevent me from having to pay import taxes!
Letters! Don't feel like you need to send me any kind of care package, I really love getting letters and have started to decorate my house with the greeting cards I've already received! And I've been trying to write as many as I can back to the US so let's be pen pals!
Snacks! American food is always appreciated and there's a good chance I'll be sharing with my neighbors (3-7 years old) and students (9-16 years old) so if you find any snacks/ candy you think will be fun for them to try, I'll be sure to send you a picture of their reactions! (Also, don't discount the value of food like oatmeal packets, mac and cheese, and cereal- those are not a thing here!)
Pictures! This is another thing I've been decorating my house with and the people here love to see pictures of America (the reaction to snow never gets old).
Simple card games or sports equipment (jump ropes, frisbee, etc.)! I spend most of my time after work with the neighbors I mentioned earlier and I would love to teach them some new games!
Puzzles, coloring books, your favorite book! As the lone English speaker in my community, I spend a lot of time by myself and I have been trying to spend my solo time doing things other than watch Netflix. I've been reading a lot and would love some new titles but also I'm not opposed to having other activities to do (hence, the puzzle and coloring book requests).
Anything you think I might like! Half the fun of a care package is the surprise aspect! If you want to include something not on this list, I can guarantee I will love it!
They say mail is more fun to receive when you're in the Peace Corps and I can 110% vouch for that statement! If you end up sending something, thank you! And if you're not able to know that I appreciate you checking out my blog and I'll send you a letter if you give me your address :)
